Anarchy in a Bouquet.
This competition entry was created for The Brief Association in response to a fictional brand concept: Wild Petals, a bold, family-owned florist with a rebellious spirit. Wild Petals defies floral tradition with edgy arrangements, unexpected textures and expressive colour choices - positioning floristry as a form of artistic protest. The design challenge was to create a raw, energetic brand identity that reflected their unapologetic ethos while staying inviting and accessible.
The Solution.
Inspired by 1970s punk culture and the iconography of the Sex Pistols, the visual language features a vibrant colour palette that contrasts sharply with the muted tones typical of the industry. Graffiti-style typography, paired with a bold, tabloid-inspired sans serif, reinforces the brand’s raw, expressive edge. The tone of voice is intentionally provocative, echoing the punk ethos throughout. A slogan referencing an iconic punk song adds a clever intertextual twist, bringing the brand’s rebellious spirit and statement-making identity to life.
